Tapeña Wine Package Giveaway

by Mary on December 6, 2011

I’m giving away a prize people… better keep reading!

Today is an incredibly special day for me.  Not only is it just another day in the midst of my favorite time of the year (the holidays), it is my twin boys first birthday!  Holy wow did that year fly by!!!

I have a whirlwind of memories and emotions attached to that very day, one year ago, December 6, 2010, when those little guys came into this world and I am so ready to celebrate.  But, since we are thousands of miles away from most of our family and friends this year, we are keeping it very low key for their first birthday. No huge party this year.  Though I am sure we will have plenty of opportunities for future birthdays to go big!

So instead, I want to celebrate virtually, with YOU – my readers. Going along with the holiday spirit of giving I want to give one lucky reader a special gift… yes, WINE!

I have partnered with Tapeña (tah-PAY-nyah) wines to have a special contest by featuring their food friendly value wines. One lucky winner will receive a prize package valued at over $100.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the brand:

Tapeña—the wine with the little fork on the label—is a big blend of tradition, camaraderie and good taste. A fusion of the terms tapas, the American equivalent of bar hopping with an epicurean twist, and peña, a gathering of close friends, Tapeña is a food-friendly, value-priced wine at $9.99.

Tapeña is the vision of the Ferrer family, whose Spanish wine experience dates back to the 1500s. Better known for their Freixenet cava house, the Ferrers also own 11 bodegas in Spain, the wines of which are sold around the globe.

Tapeña has four wines under their label (two reds, one white, and one rosé) and all of them are included in this giveaway:

2010 Tempranillo
2010 Garnacha
2010 Verdejo
2010 Rosé (blend of  55% Monastrell, 40% Garnacha, 5% Shiraz)

What I appreciate about their brand is that they are all about food and friends, and experiencing them together along with a bottle of wine.  In Spain this is inherent to their culture!  To me, that’s what wine is about – sharing it with those you love over a good meal and creating memories.  Some of my own greatest memories with my friends involve the sharing of food, wine, and laughter and this is a piece of my lifestyle and culture I wish to pass onto my own boys and something I hope they, too, learn to appreciate.

So in honor of the season of giving, and a celebration of me surviving my first year with twins  my boys birthday, I want to give a prize package to a reader in hopes that you can create some holiday memories this year with your friends and family.

The prize package will contain - a bottle of each wine (Tapeña Tempranillo, Garnacha, Verdejo, and Rosé), and many other goodies, including a very thorough and awesome Spanish food cookbook, wine charms, magnets, and a very handy corkscrew (something I can never have enough of).  A prize package valued at over $100!

How to enter:

First off you must be at least 21 year of age and that by entering you verify you are over 21.

1) Simply leave a comment here on the blog letting me know which of these wines you would be most anxious to try.

2) For an extra entry, let me know what your favorite Tapas restaurant is, anywhere in the country.  Tapas restaurants are among my favorite and I am always on the lookout for new restaurants to try out when I travel.  So please share your favorite and you will get an extra entry!

3) Let me know if you are a fan of Vinduge on or subscribe to receive email notifications of this blog and you get one extra bonus entry.

It’s as easy as that.  Feel free to enter as many times as you like.  I will be choosing a comment at random, so the more comments you enter, the more likely your chances are at winning. It’s like American Idol without the obnoxious teenage singers or nit picky judges, so enter all you want!

The contest will run until this Friday, December 9th so get to it!

For more information on Tapeña please feel free to check out their website for history about their wines, some amazing looking recipe ideas, as well as information on their Tapeña Rewards program.  You can also find them on , , and their own blog.

Good luck!

Hi Mary! A contest!?!?! Woohoo! Happy birthday to the boys! I wish I was closer and could help you all celebrate! I am helping you celebrate in spirit, however.

Back to the contest, I’d be interested in trying all 4 wines since I am always looking out for value, staple wines.

As for a tapas restaurant…well, if you ever came back for a visit ;-) , I would suggest The Silk Road. It’s an internationally-themed tapas restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food is innovative and delicious!

Yes, I am a fan of Vindulge on FB and I already receive your blog updates in my inbox. I always learn something new about wine with every post!

Congratulations on your first year as mom! I can’t wait to see the boys again!

Cheers!
Jen

Happy Birthing Day, Mary! and Happy Big One to the Boys!

I would really love to try the Verdejo, because, honestly, for as much wine as I’ve consumed in my life, I don’t recall imbibing with a Verdejo. I’ll grab my tapas from Picco in Larkspur, CA!

Take lots of pictures today!

Happy Birthday handsome boys!!! I hope they were up bright and early eating something yummy and making they’re Mommy smile!! I can’t believe a year has already flown by so fast. They are the cutest little guys ever. So now for the contest.

Id especially love to try the Rosè! I just discoverd them this past season and I really like how light and crisp they are. I’ve always been a big red wine drinker but totally fell in love with Rosè and am excited to find more delicious one’s to pair with yummy food and share with family and friends.

My favorite tapas restaurant is Andalu. They’re braised lamb cheeks are to die for as well as the ahi tacos!

Bonus: How awesome of a gift would this be come May 5th when Im allowed to partake in such delicious libations once again!!? :-)

Hello, and Happy 1st Birthday to Thing 1 and Thing 2 :) Keep those shirts, they are too cute. Also, despite the sleep deprivation thing, enjoy every moment you can — time is fleeting!

I’m trying to think outside the glass lately, and have enjoyed only a couple Tempranillos before, so I’d like to try another.

As far as true Tapas restaurants (versus small-plate restaurants), the one I’ve wanted to try but have yet to is BarCeluna on Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda.

Cheers, and cake!

Happy Birthday to the cutest twin boys in the world!

I love your contests… because who wouldn’t want to win anything associated with wine?

I’d be most excited to try the Verdejo since I’m more of a white wine drinker, but I’d also be excited to win the other three for my cousin and roommate who loves the reds. It’d be a great gift for her upcoming birthday.

If you’re ever in Denver, make sure to visit The 9th Door for a great social atmosphere and wonderful tapas and wines. I’m also very fond of Beatrice and Woodsley for their absolutely beautiful aspen grove-ish restaurant and amazingly diverse food selections. And great wine/tapas happy hour specials of course.

Hope this happy day gives you even more cause for celebration in the years to come!

Jess

Happy Birthday to the little charmers that have won my heart. Someday I hope to get to meet them in person. Hopefully sometime soon.
I believe I would like to try the white wine in the series. I will have to look around here in northern Indiana to see if Tapeña is offered her. I also love to follow your blog and look for the wines you recommend.

#1. I am axious to try the 2010 Tempranillo

#2. My absolute favorite tapas restaurant has always been Emilios, Naperville, Illinois. The restaurant is in an old colonial home with 2 dining floors (large staircase separating the floors) and about 5 different dining rooms. The outdoor patio is absolutely spectacular. They even have castanette(sp?) dancing in the bar area. I took my husband there on our first date on July 21, 2002! Oh, and the food is amazing!!!!! The ambiance is cozy, intimate, fun and romantic!

#3 I am a HUGE fan of Vindulge and receive the updates via email.

Thanks!

I would love to try the 2010 Tempranillo and I am not sure if we have any of those restaurants in central Ohio. I hope all is well. I have been drinking Cupcake wine’s ever since I saw that blog about them :)

1.) I would love to try the Verdejo. Mostly because while sitting around with my boss, him and I had a whole converstation about Verdhelo and Verdejo and both of us thought the other was just saying the word wrong when in fact they are two different wine varietals. I’ve also never tried Tapena wines.
2.) I would reccomend visiting (http://www.tapatheworld.com/) This restraunt is based out of Sacrament CA and has a wonderful and sophistaicated hole in the wall atmosphere. 3.) I am a fan on facebook, how else would I know when your posting all this good information.

Um, of course I am a fan on Facebook. I am only a little upset now, a year later, that the boys couldn’t hold out for one more day. And although we don’t have a true tapas restaurant, Dada’s in Delray offers a great app menu that you can graze on til the wine runs out.

I will say, I found these wines at a wholesaler garage sale at a screaming deal and did like them; especially for the price.

For tapas bars, San Francisco. Any of them; but Cha Cha Cha, really, how can you possible ignore pitchers of Sangria or Mojito’s?

I’m putting my name in the hat one more time. I’m feeling I would really like to try their rose since I rarely drink rose and never know what to try. But, I’d like to try more of it. Thanks for the contest! Good times!

Mary — I would love to try the Tempranillo, because it’s hard to go wrong with a Tempranillo!

My favorite tapas restaurant is Jaleo in Washington, D.C. (they also have one in Crystal City, Va.). There’s also one called Onda in Denver’s Cherry Creek area that I’ve heard is very good, but I haven’t gotten to try it yet.

And I am a Facebook fan now!

Helene December 9, 2011 at 5:41 pm

Hi, I would like to try any of them, and I’m still broadening my horizons beyond the typical bordeauxs that have been omnipresent here in most of CA the last 20 years!

And if you’re looking for a tapas-style restaurant that is not necessarily Spanish tapas, there’s Va De Vi in Walnut Creek — great wine flights and fun small plates.

Oh, and I liked the Vindulge page and signed up for an email subscription :)

Cheers!

Oh Mary, I’d love to try the Tempranillo, a favorite of mine, but I’ve never tried his one!

One of my favorite Mountain View restaurants is Cascal, a beautiful tapas restaurant here in my town. I love their sampler platter for two, a selection of about 8 luscious offerings.

It’s Me Krista submitting for Rex. He left out the P in the Tempranillo submission previously. Anyway I did a lot of Rose drinking during it’s season. And I always loved the French Rose.. I have discovered further satisfaction in French Rosados/Rose’s. So I would like to try the Rose’ and further make reference to my favorite Tapa at Barcelona restaurant…the Pulpo! All octopus dish are not created equally and the Spanish indeed know how to do it best!
